Description
Years ago, I dreamt that God the Father came and got me out of bed and took me to the edge of the universe. As we peered out over the vast space, I saw flames of fire and magnificent orbs of light. It was truly stunning. Then the Father took me to heaven, another extraordinary view of incandescent light.
Then the Father spoke to me.
“Everything in the universe is upheld by a mathematical equation. Not just the things of your world, but the things of The Kingdom of Heaven. Love, joy peace, all have a mathematical equation; just like E=mc2. I am going to give you the mathematical equation for grace.”
“Okay. What is it?” I asked.
The Father gave the equation.
“Oh my gosh! I remember that! How could I have forgotten that? It’s so easy, just like 2+2 =4.”
I woke up, and vividly remembered the dream. I woke my husband.
“Jay! God just gave me the mathematical equation for grace!”
“You are so weird. What is it?”
“It’s… it’s….” the equation dissipated like a mist. It was gone. I could not remember anything.
I was bereft. No matter how hard I tried, I could not piece it together. I mourned its loss.
So, I did what artists do. I painted what I had seen. When it came time to writing the equation I was stumped. So, I just wrote what came to me.

Later, when I showed the painting in an exhibition, a woman came up and asked about the painting.
“Are you a mathematician?”
“No, I can’t balance my own checkbook.”
Well, I have a master’s degree in math, and that right there is a Newtonian equation. “
“You mean it makes sense?!?”
“Perfect sense.”
Wow! That is astounding!
